The 21st Annual Jump Start Afterschool Conference is a two-day professional development experience designed to educate, empower, and connect afterschool professionals from across Utah. Held at the Eccles Conference Center in Ogden, Utah, on October 24-25, 2025. Jump Start brings together educators, staff, and leaders in the out-of-school time field for a high-impact event filled with learning, networking, and growth. With a wide variety of sessions to choose from—including youth development, career advancement, program administration, and lesson planning—this conference offers something for everyone, whether you're new to afterschool or a seasoned pro.
This year’s Jump Start Afterschool Conference is centered around the theme "Educate. Advocate. Activate."—a call to action for afterschool professionals to grow their knowledge, use their voice, and take bold steps to elevate their programs and communities. Through powerful sessions, meaningful connections, and practical tools, this conference is designed to support, encourage, and empower attendees every step of the way. Jump Start is your opportunity to deepen your skills, explore innovative practices, and join a vibrant community dedicated to enriching the lives of youth across the state.

Call for Proposals | Opens May 30th
We’re looking for passionate, knowledgeable presenters to share their expertise at the 21st Annual Jump Start Afterschool Conference! This is your chance to inspire and empower afterschool professionals by leading a session on topics like lesson planning, STEM activities, health and wellness (for youth or staff), program administration, or anything else that supports quality out-of-school time programming. You’re welcome to submit multiple proposals for different topics—so bring your best ideas! Call for Proposals closes on August 8th, and selected presenters will be notified shortly after. All accepted presenters will also receive a discount on registration. Share your voice, your vision, and your value with the field!

Professional Development and Hotel Awards | Coming Soon
In partnership with the Utah Department of Workforce Services, Office of Child Care, and the George S. and Dolores Doré Eccles Foundation, the Utah Afterschool Network is pleased to offer Professional Development Assistance Awards to support out-of-school time professionals attending the Jump Start Conference. These awards help offset registration costs, and Hotel Assistance Awards are also available for those traveling more than 90 miles to attend. The application window for PD & Hotel Awards will be available soon.
Jump Start Conference Registration | Opens August 1st
Registration for the Jump Start Afterschool Conference opens August 1st, 2025. Early bird registrations runs until October 5th with one day pricing at $125 and two day pricing at $195. Late registration will be available from October 6th-October 17th with one day pricing at $145 and two day pricing at $220. Register early for the best deal and check out volunteer and presenting opportunities for a chance at even bigger discounts!
Jump Start Volunteer Registration | Opens August 1st
Want to be a part of the action? Join us as a Jump Start volunteer! Volunteers help make the conference a success by supporting registration, room hosting, presenter needs, and more. It’s a great way to build your network, gain behind-the-scenes experience, and contribute to a meaningful event. Volunteers also receive a discount toward registration so be sure to sign-up as a volunteer before registering!
