Just as CPR prepares you to respond in a medical emergency, Youth Mental Health First Aid (YMHFA) gives you the tools to support someone experiencing a mental health challenges. This interactive, evidence-based course from the National Council for Mental Wellbeing teaches you how to recognize warning signs, respond with confidence, and connect individuals to the right professional help.
Through engaging scenarios, activities, and community-focused examples, you’ll gain practical skills that make a real difference. The course also covers trauma, substance use, and self-care to help you support both others and yourself. Kristen Knoche, Lead Afterschool Consultant, is certified to teach this course.
Take this opportunity to build your confidence, strengthen your community impact, and earn a nationally recognized Youth Mental Health First Aid certification, valid for three years.
