Northern Recharge is a one-day, in-person professional development workshop designed specifically for Afterschool Professionals. Join us on February 21st, 2026, from 10 am to 4 pm at Glendale Middle School, 1430 West Andrew Avenue, Salt Lake City, Utah 84104.

This immersive experience is an opportunity to step away from the daily hustle, reconnect with your purpose, and recharge alongside peers who share your commitment to high-quality out-of-school time programming.

Throughout the day, participants will engage in meaningful learning experiences focused on strengthening practice and leadership in afterschool settings. Sessions will explore youth development, school-day alignment, high-quality program design, hands-on STEM enrichment, social-emotional learning, staff collaboration, community service, and program planning. Northern Recharge is designed to be practical, interactive, and immediately applicable, equipping professionals with tools, strategies, and inspiration they can bring back to their programs to better support youth, families, and school partners.

Call for Proposal | Closed

Calling all passionate afterschool professionals! We are looking for dynamic presenters to join us for the in-person Northern Recharge and share your expertise with the field. This is your chance to inspire, empower, and energize afterschool educators by leading a session on topics like behavior management, youth development, school-day alignment, community service, creative activities, leadership skills, STEM, health and wellness, program administration, family engagement, or any area that supports high-quality out-of-school time programming.

Have multiple great ideas? Submit as many proposals as you like, bring your best and boldest concepts! The Call for Proposals closes Wednesday, December 17, and selected presenters will be notified shortly after. Don’t miss this opportunity to share your voice, showcase your vision, and make a lasting impact on the afterschool community!

Professional Development Awards | Closed

In partnership with the Utah Department of Workforce Services, Office of Child Care, the Utah Afterschool Network is pleased to offer Professional Development Assistance Awards and Hotel Awards to support afterschool professionals attending Northern Recharge. PD and Hotel Awards close on Jan.22.  If awarded, Early Bird Registration is $85! 

Volunteer 

Looking for ways to get involved? We would love to have you join us as a volunteer. Volunteers help with registration and room hosting. If you sign-up to be a volunteer, you can also get a great discount of $40 off your registration! To get the best deal, sign up before Early Bird Registration ends.
