AmeriCorps
Through the AmeriCorps Utah STEM Initiative, the Utah Afterschool Network has the exciting opportunity to place qualified STEM Specialists in schools and afterschool programs at a reduced cost to your organization. AmeriCorps is the only federal agency for community service and volunteerism, engaging adults in public service work with a goal of helping others and meeting critical needs in the community. AmeriCorps members commit to full-time or part-time positions different from standard employment. These members provide a minimum number of service hours during their term of service. In return, they earn a bi-weekly living stipend and are eligible to receive the Segall AmeriCorps Education Award upon completion of their service.
Million Girls Moonshot
Million Girls Moonshot is a STEM initiative that seeks to re-imagine who can engineer, who can build and who can make. In Utah, we are doing this by reaching girls from a young age, using near-peer mentors, and involving families.
