CDC’s Virtual Healthy School (VHS) is an interactive tool that shows schools how to support the health and academic achievement of students through the Whole School, Whole Community, Whole Child (WSCC) model. The VHS is designed for those who have an interest in meeting the needs of the whole child. Those needs include providing students with opportunities to improve their dietary and physical activity behaviors and manage their chronic health conditions.

Voices Action Center

Voices for Healthy Kids®, a joint initiative of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF) and American Heart Association (AHA), works to help all young people eat healthier foods and be more active. Nearly one in three kids and teens is overweight or obese. Alliance For A Healthier Generation

Healthier Generation offers an evidence-based assessment tool to create a healthier out-of-school time environment for kids. Created in partnership with the National Afterschool Association’s Healthy Eating and Physical Activity Standards 2.0, the Healthy Out-of-School Time Assessment will help you track what you are already doing to support health and wellness at your site as well as highlight opportunities for growth and improvement. The site offers the assessment both virtually and in printable format. In addition to the assessment, the site provides an action plan to create change and several roadmaps to work towards those changes. All content is free.

CATCH stands for a Coordinated Approach to Child Health. CATCH is an evidence-based curriculum designed to promote physical activity, healthy food choices, and healthy practices. The site offers resources on a variety of topics, such as vaping prevention, physical activity, and health and nutrition. Most resources are not free. CATCH does offer a limited selection of free resources and samples.

Breath Utah

Breathe Utah teaches children how they, their families, and their communities produce air pollution in an effort to develop awareness of how combustion in normal activities like driving and heating homes, affect the air they breathe. The goal is to increase awareness of how the quality of the air they breathe can positively and negatively affect their bodies and overall health. The education program provides teachers with high quality lesson plans and activities for students grades kindergarten through high school, as well as classroom visits and workshops.
