Position Summary

Assist in planning and implementing educational and play-based child care to ensure health, safety, and enrichment of children birth through age five.



Essential Job functions

Assist in planning, implementing and supervising infant/toddler/preschooler stimulation and educational activities in order to enhance their emotional and physical growth.
Provide developmentally appropriate care, comfort, nurturing and guidance to infants/toddlers/preschoolers in order to enhance their emotional and physical growth.
Assist children with acquisition of age-appropriate social skills.
Supervise and implement appropriate feeding schedules and individual maintenance requirements.
Ensure the cleanliness, orderliness, and safety of facility according with health and hygiene standards, including but not limited to the toileting area, toys, cots, sheets, diaper changing area and food service/preparation area.
Work with teaching team to create and maintain a cheerful, aesthetically pleasing child care environment that reflects the cultural diversity and interests of the children.
Share responsibilities for accurate record keeping, data collection, and anecdotal child reports in order to ensure coordinated departmental interventions.
Monitor emotional and physical health of children, report all cases of suspected child abuse and respond to emergencies as needed in order to protect children.
