Organization: Boys & Girls Clubs of Utah County
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Oversees Club’s Child Nutrition program and serves over 5,000 meals and snacks each day to dozens of locations throughout Utah County and Southern Utah. Primary job responsibilities include: menu development and implementation; partner/school relations; staff management and training; budget management; food procurement; food delivery; grant management; administrative paperwork; vendor relations; and program reach.

KEY ROLES (Essential Job Responsibilities):
1. Develop a menu that meets SFSP and CACFP guidelines. Ensure the menu meets the needs of children and is updated regularly to include a variety of healthy options.

2. Develop and maintain relationships with state grantors.

3. Develop and maintain relationships with food vendors. Ensure all menu items are documented for food pattern requirements.

4. Develop and maintain relationships with partner locations including local schools.

5. Manage nutrition staff. Establish and manage performance goals and compensation. Ensure safety of staff and youth clients.

6. Plan and implement a staff development and training program to meet the requirements of the program and of the department of education.

7. Place regular food orders from vendors following established menu.

8. Facilitate timely food delivery to sub sites.

9. Track daily meals ordered, delivered, and served.

10. Manage vehicle fleet. Maintain vehicles and perform necessary maintenance, cleaning, and safety checks.

11. Maintain administrative records following the guidelines of the USDA food program requirements.

12. Manage budget to ensure that the food program operates responsibly and within the guidelines of CACFP and SFSP. Submit monthly reimbursements for meals served.

13. Participate in activities to maintain good public relations for Club programs, services.

14. Ensure the completion of required reports; and preparation of any required interagency reports.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. May assist in general Club projects.

PERFORMANCE PROFILE:

1. Safety: Ensure safety of staff and youth clients as measured through incident reports and workers compensation claims.

2. Reach: Ensure the program is reaching and ever-increasing number of youth in need as measured through qualified meals served or through total program revenue.

3. Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and thorough records that meet the requirements of the food service program.

4. Food Logistics: Ensure timely food delivery that meets meal pattern requirements.

5. Communication: Sub sites will have accurate and up-to-date information regarding the food program and menu.

6. Community Partners: Strong community partnerships will be observed.

7. Parent Satisfaction: Parents will be happy with food program as measured through informal discussion with parents and as measured through a parent survey.

8. Youth Satisfaction: Youth will be happy with the program as measured by informal discussion and food service numbers.

9. Staff Satisfaction: Staff will have the needed tools and training to do their job properly as measured through staff retention and formal feedback.

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:

· Strong work ethic and ability to critically think through challenges.

· Considerable knowledge of: the mission, objectives, policies, programs and procedures of Boys & Girls Clubs; of the principles and practices of non-profit organizations.

· Demonstrated ability to organize, direct and coordinate.
