RESPONSIBILITIES OF AN EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION LEAD TEACHER:

Under the guidance of the ECE Director, the Lead Teacher is responsible for implementing curriculum determined by the ECE Director, writing lesson plans, assessing children and communicating with parents.
Responsible for working with a team to provide High Quality preschool through daily activities for students, age 3-4 years old that attend the YMCA preschool program.
Creating activities that are aimed at increasing student's academic, social, physical, emotional and spiritual well-being.

REQUIREMENTS TO BE AN EARLY CHILDHOOLD EDUCATION LEAD TEACHER:

Education Requirements: Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development or related degree.
Previous Work Experience: At least 2 years experience in education, preferably working with young children through child-care, education, youth development or other related fields.
Certification Requirements: Must be able to obtain and become certified in First Aid, CPR and Food Handlers withing 30 days of hire date.
Must be able to pass a background check with fingerprinting within 10 days of hire date and prior to working with children
Must be available to work Full Time, Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM.




PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Associates or Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education or Elementary Education or higher degree.
Able to engage preschool age children while teaching through conversation and other skill based lesson plans.
Demonstrates reliability, flexibility, organization and ability to follow directions as tasks are assigned.
Ability to write and carry out lesson plans.
Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and to prioritize appropriately.
Must have good interpersonal and communications skills and be sensitive, adaptable, professional and articulate when dealing with others.
Maintain a professional attitude toward children, families and co-workers.
Ability to attend all trainings and meetings as required even if scheduled outside normal working or regular scheduled hours.
Must be able to work autonomously within the YMCA core values of Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility.
Current Driver's License
Some college and/or experience working with preschool age children.
Verbal and written Spanish skills are a plus.
Computer Proficiencies: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), Google Platform (Gmail, Calendar, Google Docs), internet, basic typing skills.
