Overview:
The Boys & Girls Clubs of Utah County provides afterschool and summer programs to youth throughout Utah County. The Afterschool Programs are located on school-site locations or at the Provo Clubhouse and generally run M–F from 1–6pm during the school year and 8-6 during the summer. While at the program, youth receive a blend of academic and enrichment activities. The afterschool and summer programs serve youth in Elementary, Middle, Junior High and High Schools. The elementary sites are licensed childcare sites. In addition, this program provides healthy food and snacks to youth at the sites. The program provides transportation from designated schools to the Provo Clubhouse.

JOB SUMMARY:
Directs/manages overall operations of 1-8 designated Afterschool Program sites within a specified geographic area with the primary concern for activity and service delivery, supervision and training of staff, facilities management, transportation, budgets, membership administration, and the child nutrition program.

KEY ROLES (Essential Job Responsibilities):
1. Recruit, select, manage, train and coach staff and volunteers on classroom management, lesson planning, positive discipline, safety and other trainings as needed. Must have knowledge and experience training other people on how to work with youth.
2. Supervise and direct 1–8 staff members (site coordinators and youth development professionals) on a daily basis. Ensure quality programming, safety, and fun by managing and coaching staff members. Must have knowledge and experience in program evaluation, staff evaluation tools, and strategic program planning.
3. Communicate effectively and often with the school and site coordinators to ensure grant requirements, parent and youth needs and interests are met, and quality programs are delivered..
4. Recruit and retain staff in the program. The Area/Site Director is responsible for an average daily attendance goal. Must have experience in effective recruitment and retention methods.
5. Ensure site coordinators and staff deliver quality activities and are grant compliant. Must have experience or training to effectively evaluate staff performance and to help staff deliver high quality activities.
6. Knowledge and experience working in a licensed childcare center and/or school. Responsible for compliance with child-care rules and regulations.
7. Manage site financial resources. Control expenditures against budget. Must have experience or knowledge in basic budget management.
8. Responsible for regular program reports, data gathering, and meeting deadlines.
9. Responsible for ensuring compliance with the federal Child Nutrition guidelines.
10. Market and communicate to the public who and what the organization is and does.
11. Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Associates, bachelors, or graduate degree from an accredited college and successful completion of at least 12 semester credit hours of coursework in childhood development, elementary education; or
Child Development Associate (CDA) issued by the Council for Early Childhood Professional Recognition; or
National Administrator Credential (NAC)
