NHMU Child & Family Programs Facilitators are responsible for the instruction of elementary aged children in a wide variety of STEAM subjects. Facilitators are provided with curricula, supplies, support staff, and training. A successful candidate for this position has strong problem-solving and analytical skills and will be able to provide additional lessons and activities as needed to create an engaging, well-paced experience for all participants. Facilitators assist with all manner of Child & Family Programs.

The work schedule is quite flexible during the months of September – April and includes weekend youth classes and workshops (not every weekend); May’s schedule includes prepping for Summer Camp; June – August is a bit less flexible as this is when our week-long summer camps run. Staff work full-days, M-F during the Camp season.
• Attends all trainings provided by the Museum;
• Reviews curricula prior to program and provides feedback for assigned programs;
• Prepares supplies, sets up and cleans up classroom/lap spaces;
• Model professionalism and compassion while contributing to the growth and development of program participants;
• Communicates and facilitates programs effectively with an approachable, inviting, and engaging attitude while providing a safe environment;
• Effectively work within a team that provides encouragement and feedback to all support staff and participants;
• Engages directly with supply staff to ensure maintenance of equipment and materials;
• Delivers extraordinary customer service to all program participants and staff;
• Other duties as assigned.
