K-6 Activity Leader
Description
Organization: BEACON Afterschool ProgramActivity leaders lead five clubs per week for students in grades 1-6 and work with Kindergarten students Monday through Thursday. BEACON Afterschool is a fluid educational environment where needs can change daily. We are seeking someone with the adaptability and flexibility to meet those needs. Professional development and on the job training is provided.
This position runs Monday-Friday from Mid-August to Mid-May and is a twenty two hour per week commitment. Position hours are Monday through Thursday 1-5:30 pm and Friday 12-3:30 pm, which includes one hour per day of paid on-site prep time.
Starting wage is $16.42 per hour, this position is open until filled.
Core Job Responsibilities
Plan and lead daily enrichment clubs
Provide a safe, positive learning environment with fun, educational activities for students
Prepare lesson plans that meet program requirements
Show up on time and ready to teach
Provide clubs for all elementary age levels attending program
Meet program deadlines
Attend all scheduled meetings
Complete all required training
Help promote BEACON Afterschool Program and student achievements
Maintain organized workspace
Assist with Family Events as requested
Skills and Qualifications
Ability to work independently and communicate effectively as needed
Follow-through with commitment to program schedule for the whole school year
Ability to meet the needs of students as individuals
Enjoys working with elementary-aged students
High School Diploma or GED required
