Organization: Utah Afterschool Network
The Director of Operations is responsible for the smooth operations of the Utah Afterschool Network (UAN) office and Out-of-School (OST) team and system. This position is responsible for hiring and supervising designated staff, including OST Specialists, the AmeriCorps Program Director, STEM VISTAS, and interns, while assisting the Executive Director with human resource functions, training, evaluations, timesheets, etc. This position will ensure the successful and impactful operation of the organization by working closely with the Executive Director. The Director of Operations will strengthen and manage the existing OST operational infrastructure, as well as shape the strategic and programmatic growth of the OST Specialists. This position also manages office functions including IT, data collection, supplies, vendor and consultant relations, and facility management. Additionally, the Director of Operations assists the Executive Director with board of director support and strategic planning.
The Director of Operations primary focus is creating, managing, and sustaining a viable OST statewide integrated plan that meets outcomes outlined by the UAN Board of Directors and UAN funders. The ideal candidate has the ability to thoughtfully design and create a big-picture organizational structure, as well as deliver impeccably and on time. The position entails exceptional written and verbal communication, ability to create sustainable partnerships and collaborations, strategic and tactical thinker, and a keen attention to detail and systems. We are looking for someone who will become an emerging leader within the organization.

RESPONSIBILITIES
• Strategy, Vision, and Leadership: Support Executive Director for successful operation of organization including identifying and cultivating opportunities for organizational growth and innovation regarding the OST organizational structure. Refine and manage operations systems in the areas of OST, data collection, marketing, and communications. Lead internal implementation and evaluation of an annual operations plan; Research, monitor, evaluate, and report on state and federal policy developments that impact OST; Responsible for overall leadership and planning of UAN’s quality initiatives to advance UAN’s vision, mission, goals, and overall sustainability.
• Quality: Responsible for the development, maintenance and strategy for advancing the UAN Afterschool Program Quality Assessment and Improvement Tool. Leadership of the development, creation and implementation of marketing and messaging of quality tool and resources.
• Financial Management: Assist in developing and managing annual budget, including working with UAN’s Board and Executive Director to provide financial information that enables strategic budgeting and planning.
• Communications: Provide leadership around the refinement of UAN’s OST system; Communicate with key stakeholders including supporters and Board of Directors; Identify strategic communications opportunities to expand UAN’s reach and promote our brand; Manage the promotion of UAN’s work through regular communication with the national networks.
