Title: ParaProfessional
Education Level: Minimum of High School Diploma or GED, College degree and/or related experience prefered
Compensation: $18/hr
Work Schedule: Part-time, Monday-Friday, 4 hours/day, June 21st - July 30th

The Boys & Girls of Utah County provides afterschool and summer programs to kids throughout Utah County. This summer program position will run for 6 weeks, 8:15am-12:45pm at one of our partnered Orem Elementary schools with a 1 ½ week training. During the program, youth receive a blend of academic and enrichment activities that supports social-emotional intelligence.

Job Summary:
A dependable ParaProfessional who plans, implements, supervises, and evaluates activities that support social-emotional development in areas such as: Academia, Special Education, Social Recreation, Fine Arts, STEM, and Physical Education. May be responsible for implementing prevention education in alignment with grant requirements.

Key Roles:

Prepare Youth for Success
Create an environment that facilitates the achievement of Youth Development Outcomes:
Promote and stimulate program participation;
Provide guidance and role modeling to members;
Ensure members are encouraged to participate in a variety of program areas/activities and receive instruction and constructive feedback to develop skills in program area(s).
Demonstrate leadership to assure conduct, safety, and development of members.

Program Development and Implementation
Effectively implement and administer programs, services, and activities for all members and visitors.
Monitor and evaluate program services and activities.
Oversee members safety, program quality, and appearance of the organization at all times.

Ensure a productive and safe work environment by participating in weekly organization staff meetings.

Additional Responsibilities:
May participate in special programs and/or events associated with the summer program.
Plan and coordinate a month-long club that develops a skill at the end of each session.
Participate in training upon hiring and weekly staff meetings.

Skills/Knowledge Required:
High School diploma or GED
Experience in working with children
Knowledge of youth development
Motivate youth and manage behavior problems
Ability to maintain good relations with the school and general public.
Plan and implement quality program for youth
Organize and supervise members in a safe environment
CPR and First Aid Certification may be required
Valid State Driver’s License
