Organization: Salt Lake City School District, Community Education After-School Programs
The Summer School Group Leader works with students in summer school programs, supervising, supporting, mentoring, monitoring and ensuring that the district's after school programs are implemented in a service-oriented, safe, fair, and equitable manner.
Under limited supervision, plan, organize, and facilitate age-appropriate activities for recess, indoor, outdoor, quiet and active programs.
Provide school work assistance to students in academic areas (e.g. reading, language, math, etc.) and promote good study habits.
Prepare and maintain food for students in accordance within Department of Health standards.
Communicate and supervise students in a positive and patient manner, being understanding of child development stages.
Receive/release students directly from/to parent or designee to ensure safety and meet district requirements.
Perform confidential and non-confidential record keeping and clerical functions (e.g. scheduling, copying, etc.) to ensure necessary records maintenance.
Participate in trainings, to gain information, build skills and ensure quality student programs.
Participate in special projects as assigned by the site coordinator to program meet goals and objectives.
Administer first aid/CPR to students when necessary.
Clean work areas (e.g. gym, computer lab, classrooms, etc.) to maintain a safe and sanitary environment.
Maintain regular and predictable attendance to fulfill job requirements.
Assist other personnel when necessary to ensure an efficient and effective work environment.
