Organization: Dual Immersion Academy
Organization: Dual Immersion Academy, a small K-8 school located in the heart of Salt Lake City, Utah. Our fantastic group of educators put in the time and effort to help us reach our mission of creating bilingual, bi-literate, and bi-cultural students who are prepared to make a difference in the world.
Summer OST Group Leader
Pay: $15.00/hour
Mandatory to Work Program Hours: Monday-Friday, 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

In the DIA-X Summer program you will be interacting with students daily and working to engage them in academic, social-emotional, physical, and creative activities. You will work closely with licensed teachers to review academic data and will assist with in-classroom instruction. You will also lead enrichment activities outside of academic learning times. As a group leader you will be responsible for building relationships with students and families, planning and leading fun activities, academic tutoring and ensuring the safety of all participants.

As part-time staff Afterschool Group Leaders are responsible for implementing daily enrichment lesson plans in the area of STEM, Literacy, Mathematics, and Physical Recreation. Afterschool Group Leaders are also responsible for homework assistance, tutoring and the daily tracking of student attendance as well as involvement in academic activities. Afterschool Group Leaders are an important part of a teaching team and are expected to work in conjunction with day-school teachers to provide activities that align with day-school objectives.
Must be creative, flexible, charismatic, take initiative, patient, utilize critical thinking skills, and must enjoy working with youth.
Must be able to meet deadlines, be punctual, resilient, and complete assigned duties.
Must be able to pass a background check
Qualifications
1. Must be able to maintain a GPA of 2.5 or more if still enrolled in high school.
2. Experience working with children preferred.

Responsibilities
Afterschool “Classroom”
1. Assist and implement a developmentally appropriate and inclusive program consistent with Dual Immersion Academy’s mission and vision for youth in an out-of-school environment.
2. Supervise and ensure the safety and well being of the children at all times; remain alert to the needs and/or problems of the children as individuals and as a group
3. Turn in lesson plans and material request on time
4. Keep classroom, storage room, bathrooms, and yard clean, orderly, and inviting
Training
1. Attend weekly DIA-X data-dive meetings.
Other
Attend weekly staff check-in meetings on Friday
Be familiar with and follow Dual Immersion Academy’s staff, student, and parent policies
Complete Infant & Child CPR training and First Aid for those considering long term employment as a sign of professional promise
