GENERAL PURPOSE
Under the supervision of Equity & Access Supervisor, the Extended School Day (ESD) Site
Coordinator oversees and coordinates all programming outside of the regular school day
including after/before school and family evening events. The Site Coordinator may also be
involved in occasional week-end activities and will be involved in planning and/or facilitating
extended school-year education. The ESD Site Coordinator is responsible for curriculum
execution, programmatic management, relationship building, and staff development to ensure
the success of the program.
MAIN JOB TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Coordinate and facilitate extended school-day education, contracted teachers, and
specialists to ensure successful programing.
Regularly collaborate with District Extended Learning Specialist, School Principal,
Community School Coordinator, and other school personnel to ensure good
communication and continuous program improvement.
Collaborate with school administration and staff to plan lessons and prepare the ESD
clubs and activities.
Ensure that the curriculum is an extension of the school day’s learning.
Ensure that all activities align with the school’s success plan.
Assess program needs and ensure program meets or exceeds all quality and required
grant measurements.
Recruit and oversee staff and teachers who are part of the ESD program.
Recruit and register students into the ESD Program and maintain a healthy ADA and
enrollment.
Provide direct supervision of all youth, ensure a child is never left alone.
Learn (cross-train) all the roles of ESD programs and be available to substitute when
necessary.
Set up PBIS procedures and processes.
Oversee the ESD groups and clubs
Ensure the safety and well-being of all participants.
Track attendance, participation, using Ovation.
Administer tests at beginning and end of school year; records data on student progress
as required by supervisors, as assigned.
Ensure the reporting and analysis of the data is in line with the grant requirements and
assist with required reports.
Responsible for training and tracking data entry for Child Nutrition (snacks).
Maintain a state child care license and adhere to the standards of the license.
Assure compliance with state and local regulations as they relate to program areas.
Ensure that program standards are met and safety procedures followed.
Coordinate with STEM & Literacy District Specialists, grant team, school counselors, and
case managers.
Assist in developing and following up on pro-social skill plans for students involved in the
ESD programs.

Monitor and reinforce behavioral interventions and programs as outlined.
Coordinate with school counselors and case managers to develop and follow-up on plans
for students to practice pro-social skills in ESD programs; make home visits for students
being referred/recruited for ESD services (with counselors, community school
coordinators, liaison and/or principal).
In collaboration with the Community School Coordinator, the ESD will refer students and
families to community and school resources.
Attend Collaborative Team Meetings (CTM), trainings, and conferences related to the ESD
program.
Communicate with parents through phone calls, mailings, flyers, posters, school website,
etc.,to promote the program.
Collaborate with community school coordinators and partners to plan and facilitate family
engagement nights.
