Salt Lake County Youth Services provides support to schools and families through Afterschool Programs, Summer Programming, and Parental Support. Our programs are offered on site at schools located in Kearns, Magna, West Valley City, and Millcreek. Our goals are to keep kids safe, provide healthy adult role models, teach new skills, and give youth confidence in themselves through a variety of activities including academic support, dance, arts, sports, service projects throughout the community, and off-site field trips. These goals are achieved by working closely with school administration and ensuring our staff are active participants in helping to make positive changes within the communities served.

What You'll Do Here:
As an Afterschool Program Peer Mentor your team will work directly with youth from diverse backgrounds in a school setting to provide a safe and healthy environment by:
* Being a peer mentor to the youth while using Positive Behavior Support techniques while assisting with guiding groups of up to 15 youth.
* Assisting with daily activities for program participants based on school day support and enrichment focus areas including STEM, Arts and Culture, Character Education, Healthy Living, and College and Career Exploration.
* Assisting with activities resulting in enriching the lives of youth and helping them to become successful in academics and daily life activities.

What We Need from You:
Must be at least 15 years of age. Pay: 15 - 17 years of age =$9.50 per hour.

Must be 18 years of age or older with three (3) months of full-time experience working with youth in a structured setting in a related field. 18+ years of age with 3(three) months full time experience = $11.50 per hour
