Hours: 40 hours/week; Monday - Friday. Some off-site, weekend, and evening work required

Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Salt Lake serves kids at 7 locations in Salt Lake, Tooele and Carbon County. Last year, nearly 7,000 youth attended our Clubs with over 1,200 members coming to the Clubs each day. Boys & Girls Clubs give their members, ages 3 - 18, access to dedicated, caring individuals who can provide guidance in adopting healthy lifestyles and pursuing educational objectives. Most importantly, Boys & Girls Clubs equip young people with the skills they need to resolve conflicts peacefully, improve relationships and function as responsible citizens.

Job Summary:
The Development Assistant works as part of the Resource Development team to execute elements of the annual fundraising and communications plans, process gifts, manage donor database system, assist with donor cultivation, and provide support for organizational events.

KEY ROLES (Essential Job Responsibilities):

Gift Processing and Donor Stewardship
• Work with Development and Accounting teams to process all types of donations and ensure accurate recording and acknowledgement of gifts within set timeline and standards
• Prepare and assist with donor recognition materials as outlined in stewardship plan including notes, cards, newsletters, plaques, etc.
• Assist with Annual Appeal fundraising efforts

Database Management
• Maintain data entry standards and perform cleanup on an on-going basis
• Maintain consistency of donor information and accuracy of database information
• Assist with reports, mailing lists, and query generation to support campaigns and projects
• Process donor information, generate and send all relevant correspondence, thank you letters, etc.
• Coordinate printing of mailing labels and donor lists for appeal letters and other correspondence
• Maintain hardcopy records of all donations as applicable
• Responsible for generating and sending end of year tax letters
• Provides excellent customer service, anticipating and exceeding the needs of our donors

Special Events
• Serve as point person for guest stewardship at all fundraising and cultivation events including RSVP, registration and general support
• Follow up for item solicitation, tracking and inventory for silent auction
• Assist in planning and executing logistics for marketing and PR events, including booths at festivals or community events as well as Boys & Girls Club week and other Club sponsored events

Grant Management
• Assist with managing calendar of due dates for grant applications and reports
• Maintain hard copy files of grant-related correspondence
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge:
• Management of multiple priorities and attentive to details
• Must be friendly, outgoing, team-oriented and flexible
• Possess thorough understanding of computer programs and proficiency in Microsoft Office 2010 including MS Outlook, Word and Excel
