Organization: Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Salt Lake
YOUTH DEVELOPMENT PROFESSIONAL PRIMARY FUNCTIONS:
Plans, implements, supervises, and evaluates activities provided to youth within a targeted program area, such as The Arts, Education, Health & Wellness, Leadership & Service, and Sports & Recreation.
KEY ROLES (Essential Job Responsibilities):
Prepare Youth for Success
• Create an environment that facilitates the achievement of youth development priority outcomes:
o Academic success
o Healthy lifestyles
o Good character and citizenship
Program Development and Implementation
• Effectively create, implement, and administer programs, services and activities for Club members and visitors
• Monitor and evaluate programs, services and activities to ensure safety of members, quality in programs and appearance of the Club at all times
• Prepare periodic activity reports
• Complete all necessary documentation, including member participation, pre and post testing scores, program evaluations, accident reports, etc
Supervision
• Ensure a productive work environment by participating in weekly staff meetings
• Maintain communication with Program Director and other staff members regarding concerns/issues
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
• May supervise youth during special programs, outings, and/or events.
• May be required to drive Club van.
RELATIONSHIPS:
Internal: Maintains close, daily contact with Club staff (professional and volunteer), Club members, and supervisor to receive/provide information, discuss issues, explain guidelines/ instructions; instruct; and advise/counsel.
External: Maintains contact with external community groups, schools, members’ parents and others to assist in resolving problems upon request.
SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
• Must be at least 21 years old
• Must be able to drive 15 passenger vehicles and have a good driving record
• High school diploma or GED
• Must be able to pass a criminal background check
• Must be able to pass Drug Screening
• Be CPR and First Aid certified (the Boys & Girls Clubs can arrange for this)
• Obtain valid Food Handler’s permit as required (the Boys & Girls Clubs will arrange for this)
• Be able to function for more than 2 hours on your feet
• Be adaptable and flexible to change
• Assume other responsibilities as assigned by supervisor

SCHEDULE:
• Monday through Friday 1:30PM- 6:00PM, availability for all shifts required
• No weekends
• Extra hours available during the summer
