AfterSchool Youth Leader
Youth leaders will be responsible for planning and implementing activities for youth age 5-12 that respond to their individual needs and interests and that encourages them to develop friendships, work cooperatively, communicate effectively, and increase their self-image. Youth leaders will offer classroom activities, team building and group activities, community service learning projects, and outdoor recreational opportunities. They will be responsible for proper supervision and interaction with youth, maintain effective group management techniques, encourage participation from all youth, and have fun. Will be responsible for helping to transport children from school in a 15 passenger van. Primary responsibilities will be leading the 10-12 year old children.

QUALIFICATIONS: Youth leaders must be at least 18 years old with prior experience working with children or youth. Must be genuinely cheerful and passionate about making a difference in the lives of elementary age children. Must possess at least three strong leadership qualities. Must be able to effectively communicate with parents, youth, and co-workers. Must have a valid driver's license with a good driving record and willing to drive a 15 passenger van daily to transport children from school. Must be able to pass a background check and obtain a food handlers permit, and complete First Aid and CPR certification upon hire. Applicants with some higher education and training in the field of Education, Social Work, Psychology, Recreation, or other related fields are given priority. Bi-lingual Spanish/English preferred but not required. Full Time position 40 hours per week, Monday thru Friday 9:30-5:30 or Part Time position 20-25 hours per week, Monday thru Friday 1:30-5:30; to begin immediately. Additional morning hours may occasionally be available, especially during school closure times.
Pay Rate: Starting at 9.50, DOE
