Amberley Motz

Professional Learning Systems Coordinator

Picture it: Houston. 2009. Among the greatest restaurants and high school marching bands that Texas has to offer, Amberley Motz emerged from her hometown to strike it big on the Wasatch Front. After countless rehearsals, pizza bites, and episodes of the Golden Girls, Amberley graduated with a bachelor’s degree in music education and an intolerance for lactose (sorry, pizza bites). Although she’d spent her summers in college working at various YMCAs, it wasn’t until a year later that she ultimately landed in the afterschool world, putting her passion for education to use by increasing the quality and range of American Preparatory Academy’s afterschool programming. Now that she spends her days at UAN, Amberley uses her creativity and humor to encourage all levels of afterschool staff to engage with youth and families through professional learning opportunities. Out of the office, you’ll find Amberley playing her French horn in a local ensemble or digging into those Tex-Mex roots to track down the best salsa in the valley. (Hint: it’s in Sandy.)
