- Must be knowledgeable about local, state, and national requirements and standards for afterschool programs serving youth ages 5-12 years
- Must be able to schedule and conduct observations during normal operating hours of school-age programs
Professionally, Observers must meet one of the three following requirements:
- A Baccalaureate degree and two years of work experience in a child care setting serving youth from 5 to 12 years of age, including one year working directly with youth as a caregiver, teacher, social worker, or similar role and one year facilitating the professional growth of at least one other adult.
- An Associate degree and four years of work experience in a child care setting serving youth from 5 to 12 years of age, including two years working directly with youth as a caregiver, teacher, social worker, or similar role and two years facilitating the professional growth of at least one other adult.
