Janelle Gutierrez

Out-of-School Time Specialist

Janelle is a passionate advocate for after-school programs and the positive impact they can have on the lives of young people. As a former after-school program participant herself, Janelle understands firsthand the transformative power of these programs.

Her love for youth flourished at The Boys and Girls Club of Greater San Diego and the Armed Services YMCA. After working closely with both organizations, she went off to further her education at Brigham Young University-Idaho. While working towards her degree in Child Development, she developed a love for early childhood education. After school, Janelle began working at ABC Great Beginnings Pre-school, where she thrived in programming and began coaching and mentoring new employees. Janelle returned to her after-school roots and began working for the Davis School District in one of their before and after-school programs, where she has been for the last 7 years.

With over two decades of experience in the field, she has dedicated her career to ensuring that all children have access to enriching and supportive after-school opportunities.

Janelle was born and raised in sunny San Diego. Where she spent her free time soaking up the sun at the beach, swimming, and enjoying the relaxing sounds of waves. She relocated to Utah 9 years ago where she has grown to love all the beauty and activities this amazing state has to offer. In her spare time, she enjoys camping and going to the lake with her husband, 3 kids, and fur baby!
