Title: Development Officer – Grant Writing Focus
Department: Resource Development
Salary Range/Benefits: $40,000 - $45,000 DOE. Bonus potential, paid leave, medical and other insurance benefits, 401(k), discounted childcare.

Job Summary:
Works as a member of the Resource Development team to execute annual and long range resource development strategies set by the Board of Directors and executive leadership. Develops case statements, proposals, grant applications and other written communication aimed at securing support from foundations, corporations, government agencies, and individuals. Writes or gathers data and support materials for grant reports and stewardship communication. Supports the efforts of the Resource Development team related to fundraising events, public relations events, corporate partnerships, and special campaigns.

Key Roles:
• Contribute to the overall fundraising goals and strategies to secure financial support for the organization.
• Identify research and prepare background reports on potential prospects for grants and giving campaigns.
• Conducts the full range of activities required to prepare, write, submit, and manage grant proposals to government, foundation and corporate sources.
• Adhere to deadlines and annual grant proposal calendar.
• Attend bidder conferences, donor meetings as required.
• Collaborate with program team to obtain program outcome data and prepare reports for funders as required.
• Provide support for organizational events, fundraisers, and public relations activities

Education: Bachelor’s degree required.

Experience: Minimum 2-years experience relevant fundraising activities in a non-profit setting. Significant grant writing experience preferred. Experience with fundraising events preferred.

• Organizational and strong project management skills
• Computer literacy and experience with dashboards and various online databases and CRM software
• Knowledge of governmental agencies involved in funding human services
• Experience with developing and maintaining productive relationships with staff, donors, and community

Hours: 40 hours/week. Monday – Friday. Some evenings and weekends required.
Status: Salary non-exempt.
