General Description

The After School Program Manager runs the Teen After School Program (in keeping with Mercy Housing's mission). Responsible for planning and implementing the program along with the directors and program leaders. May supervise other on site staff and volunteers. Monitors outcomes of the program and submits regular reports. Collaborates with community partners involved in program development and service provision. Responsible for keeping the center and staff in compliance with the standards set forth by the Division of Child Care. This is a one-year, grant-funded position, with potential opportunity to renew.

Requirements
Education: Must have completed at least one of the following qualifications: 4 year college degree, majoring in recreation, education (with a specialty in art, elementary or early childhood education), or human services OR two years of college training and six months of satisfactory and verifiable full-time or equivalent part--time, paid or volunteer, experience, since attaining the age of 18, in the care and supervision of four or more children.

Experience: Three years of satisfactory and verifiable full-time or equivalent part-time experience, paid or volunteer, since attaining the age of 18, in the care and supervision of four or more children. Must complete six semester hours, nine quarter hours, or 40 clock hours of training in course work applicable to school-age children within the first nine months of employment.

This position is scheduled 20 hours per week.

Abilities:
· Strong communication and collaboration skills.
· Demonstrated ability to develop and implement quality programs by working with other Mercy ASP managers in a team setting.
· Strong skills and experience in working with relevant populations.
· Effective problem solving and creative thinking skills.
· Has computer skills needed to keep accurate program stats and do the work of running the program.
· Work responsibly with off site supervision.
· Ability to be organized and to organize others.
