JOB SUMMARY: Explore the Salt Lake Valley with youth this summer enjoying the great outdoors, discovering museums, and diving into the world of imagination. Youth leaders will be responsible for planning and implementing activities for youth age 6-12 that respond to their individual needs and interests and that encourages them to develop friendships, work cooperatively, communicate effectively, and increase their self-image. Be a mentor as you go side by side with youth and escape to new adventures, try new things, and challenge them to learn new skills and be their best. Youth camp leaders will offer classroom activities, team building and group activities, community service learning projects, and outdoor recreational opportunities. They will be responsible for proper supervision and interaction with youth, maintain effective group management techniques, encourage participation from all youth, develop meaningful relationships, serve as a positive role model, and most of all, have fun!

QUALIFICATIONS: Youth leaders must be at least 18 years old with prior experience working with children or youth. Must enjoy outdoor activities and recreational opportunities and be ready to share this passion. Must possess at least three strong leadership qualities that will help you effectively work with youth. Must be able to effectively communicate with parents, youth, and co-workers. Must have a valid drivers license with a good driving record and be willing to drive a 15 passenger van and pass a background check. Must obtain a food handlers permit, and complete First Aid and CPR certification by the end of May. Applicants with some higher education and training in the field of Social Work, Psychology, Education, Recreation, or other related fields are given priority. Bi-lingual Spanish/English preferred but not required.

Full Time summer position to begin May 15th through August 18th. Position has the ability to become permanent after the summer. Full Time hours may include shifts between the hours of 6:30am-5:30pm Monday-Friday.
