POSITION DESCRIPTION
TITLE: Program Director
DEPARTMENT: Operations/Programming
REPORTS TO: Afterschool Operations Officer

PRIMARY FUNCTION: Supervise, monitor, and train staff at 14 afterschool sites (13 schools, 1 standalone facility) with primary concern for safety, program quality, staff development, and supervision of assigned staff.

KEY ROLES (Essential Job Responsibilities):
1. Ensure safety of program sites. Coordinate site efforts with safety assessment tools.
2. Maintain high level of program execution at all sites. Provide technical assistance to sites.
3. Provide coaching and professional development to site directors and to site staff relating to safety; youth development; classroom management; recruitment and retention; program quality, parent relations, and other necessary items.
4. Formally and informally assess needs of staff and youth at sites and arrange for professional development and coaching to accommodate needs. Facilitate performance reviews for site staff.
5. Recruit and retain site directors for each site. Directly supervise site directors. Coordinate hiring with school principal when at a school site.
6. Manage performance of assigned staff in achieving goals, providing technical assistance in program design, development, community relations, and program operations.
7. Develop and maintain collaborative partnerships with other youth organizations, parents, families, and community organizations
8. Develop and maintain strong partnerships with grantors, school personnel, and BGCA.
9. Other duties as assigned.

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
· Relevant bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and a minimum of five years work experience in a school or afterschool setting.
· Demonstrated ability to organize, direct, and coordinate operations; personnel supervision, the recruitment and retention of key personnel
· Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
· Ability to manage multiple tasks and to develop solutions to problems with limited supervision.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
This position will require travel to and from sites which are located from Heber to Beaver Utah with the majority of sites located in Provo/Orem. Mileage reimbursement is provided for all travel. Schedule is M-F 10am till 6pm with the option to work from home 1 day per week. Applicant must pass a criminal and FBI background check.
Salary range: $50,000-$60,000/year doe.
